Unlocking potential

Psychology at work

As a psychologist with over 3000 hours of experience in consultancy and coaching my skill base is in working with people, systems and change. My practice as a psychologist has included leading a large team of psychologists, teaching psychologists at Russell Group Universities, including the University of Nottingham and the University of Sheffield, and conducting research into psychological coaching at the doctorate level. I have a proven track record in senior management, including direct responsibility for complex change, staff well-being and systems improvement. The skills and knowledge I have developed as an educational psychologist are able to relate to the difficulties individuals face in the workplace and the systems designed to support them.  I also have extensive experience working as a coaching psychologist, and coaching can focus on a range of work-place issues. The background I have in working with children and families adds a further dimension when those specific skills are useful, such as difficulties with work-life balance. Recent research shows that work related stress accounts for near to 15 million lost working day.  With this in mind, there are a range of issues that educational psychology can help to address:

  • Supporting psychological health and well-being of individuals with specific difficulties relating to their learning and development
  • Psychological coaching to support individual's reflection, learning and development
  • Facilitating change , with your individuals, systems and projects through collaborative-consultation
  • Training and workshops- train your people in leading edge psychological models such as the Solutions-focused approach, Appreciative Inquiry, Psychological Coaching, understanding specific learning difficulties (for example dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, autistic spectrum)
