Psychological coaching

I work through a Solution-Focused Coaching framework, which provides a structured psychological approach.

Psychologists are particularly well placed to undertake the role of coach owing to their understanding of learning and development and the necessity for confidentiality and a neutral space away from day to day work. In solution-focused coaching sessions are designed to be focused and developmental and the goals for the work can be designed by the individual's needs, the organisation's needs or a combination of the two.

This way of working is supported through a range of psychological tools chosen to fit the client and the solution-focused model offers a confidential psychological process to staff who are keen to develop upon their personal approach,. Coaching can be especially useful to those who:

  • are managing projects and require support to clarify their approach and goals
  • manage complex change and want coaching in change management
  • are experiencing workplace stress or exhibit the initial symptoms of workplace stress
  • have recently been promoted and require support in developing their management and leadership skills
  • would benefit from a process of deep reflection and growth focused on the organization's goals for their contribution
  • have specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, and require support and help to determine the adjustments that need to be made in the workplace
